Marin County employees share their creative side at 25th annual arts and crafts fair - Local News Matters
Marin County marked the 25th anniversary of its Employee Arts and Crafts Fair on November 19-20, celebrated at the Marin Civic Center Cafe. The event featured handmade crafts from employees across various departments, along with live music from the County Crows. Volunteer coordinator Anne Starr highlighted the fair's role in fostering connections and a sense of belonging among staff members. Human resources employee Sara Everett-Boyer, who creates crocheted items, estimated eight hours of work goes into each of her unique pieces. She expressed the desire for more frequent fairs, suggesting they occur twice a year to enhance community engagement.
The fair showcased a wide range of crafts, including baby clothes and decorative lamps, appealing to diverse tastes. Holiday music played in the background, contributing to a festive atmosphere that attracted passersby. The event not only celebrated creativity but also strengthened relationships among county employees.
