Where San Franciscans can find a free Thanksgiving dinner
The government shutdown has left millions of Americans without access to SNAP benefits, increasing the urgency for support this Thanksgiving. In San Francisco, Glide Memorial Church leads the effort, planning to serve nearly 2,500 meals to those in need. St. Anthony's, marking its 75th anniversary, will offer over 2,400 meals starting at 7 a. m.
for coffee and pastries, with meal service beginning at 10 a. m. Meanwhile, Martin de Porres House of Hospitality will serve its traditional Thanksgiving meal from 12 to 2 p. m. , welcoming walk-ins without prior registration.
CityTeam and City Impact are also distributing meals, with CityTeam hosting a Thanksgiving Eve brunch.
