Vendors pitch in to keep Muir Woods open through month's end amid federal shutdown - Local News Matters

Muir Woods Trading Company, Ace Parking, and Must See Tours will cover operational costs including the salaries of approximately 20 furloughed staff and essential utility bills during the federal government shutdown. Faycal Bouabdallah, founder of Must See Tours, noted the park's significance to the community and expressed a desire to give back. Since January, the National Park Service has seen a workforce reduction of over 25%, raising concerns about park management and maintenance. Law enforcement officials within the park remain active, as they are exempt from the funding cuts.

The park will not charge the typical $15 entrance fee, allowing greater access to visitors during this period.
