'No Kings' protests return to Bay Area Saturday, targeting Trump and supporting Prop. 50 - Local News Matters

San Francisco, CALocal News

The Bay Area will witness "No Kings" protests against President Trump on Saturday, organized by Indivisible SF, with thousands expected to attend. The march begins at 2 p. m. in Sue Bierman Park, concluding with a rally at Civic Center Plaza at 3:30 p. m.

Organizers will also create a human banner at Ocean Beach to advocate for Proposition 50, which proposes temporary redistricting of congressional districts. Indivisible SF claims Trump seeks to undermine democracy, stating, “He’s trying to destroy everything America stands for. ” Protests will also occur in cities like San Jose and Oakland, with counterprotests anticipated in Santa Clara and Palo Alto. This is the second "No Kings" day of demonstrations since Trump’s inauguration, with the first in June drawing tens of thousands. The movement aims to promote progressive policies and elect Democratic leaders.

The participation rate in these protests reflects ongoing discontent with Trump’s administration and its policies.
