16 People Named in Alleged 400,000 Santa Clara County TJ Maxx Theft Ring
Sixteen suspects were arrested by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office for allegedly stealing nearly $400,000 worth of TJ Maxx merchandise. The sheriff's office recovered $380,000 from four residences and a storage unit, suggesting the actual stolen value may be significantly higher. The theft ring, linked to at least 80 operations, targeted multiple store locations and often committed thefts multiple times daily. Investigators believe the stolen items were resold at flea markets in San Jose. So far, eight suspects have been apprehended, while the search continues for the remaining eight individuals.
One suspect's home contained $225,000 in stolen merchandise and illegal drugs. The case underscores the broader issue of retail theft affecting local businesses throughout Santa Clara County. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact sheriff's office detectives.
