3 weekend concerts at SF's Golden Gate Park brings in 150 million to city's economy, mayor says
San Francisco's economy gained $150 million from three weekends of concerts at Golden Gate Park, according to Mayor Daniel Lurie. The city hosted Dead and Company, Outside Lands, and Zach Bryan, attracting over 450,000 attendees. Hotel occupancy increased by 37% during the Dead and Company weekend, while Outside Lands saw a nearly full occupancy rate of 90%. Despite the economic boost, neighbors expressed concerns, filing over 100 noise and parking complaints. Lurie highlighted the importance of arts and culture in the city’s recovery and announced more concerts at Civic Center, Union Square, and Moscone Center.
A free concert featuring Poolside is scheduled for September 7 in Union Square, followed by a celebration of Empire's 15th anniversary on September 13. The Moscone Center will host its inaugural concert on December 19 and 20, featuring FISHER. This series of events showcases San Francisco's commitment to revitalizing its cultural scene.
