Vacaville Man Sentenced to 73 Years For Murder and Arson That Contributed to LNU Complex Fires In 2020

San Francisco, CALocal News

Victor Serriteno was sentenced to 73 years to life for the murder of 32-year-old Priscilla Castro and related arson that exacerbated the 2020 LNU Complex wildfires. The Markley Fire, which he started to dispose of Castro's body, resulted in the deaths of two additional victims, Leon Bone and Douglas Mai. Serriteno, who met Castro through a dating app, lured her to Vacaville before committing the crime on August 16, 2020. Following the investigation, he was arrested in April 2021, and his plea deal included charges of arson and multiple counts of murder. During the sentencing, Judge Janice Williams noted the profound impact of Serriteno's actions on the victims' families and the community.

Castro's mother spoke about her daughter's transformation and expressed hope for Serriteno's spiritual redemption. District Attorney Abrams highlighted the case's importance, indicating the long-term effects on the community. The sentence reflects both accountability for Serriteno and a measure of closure for the victims' families.
