Young woman killed, young man injured after S.F. shooting Monday night

A 19-year-old woman was fatally shot in Hunters Point, San Francisco, while a 19-year-old man suffered injuries but is in stable condition following the incident. The shooting occurred around 10:35 p. m. at Ingalls Street and Harbor Road, with the assailant fleeing before police arrived. Both victims drove nearly two miles to the 2200 block of Cesar Chavez Street, where emergency services were able to assist them.

Unfortunately, the woman was declared dead at San Francisco General Hospital despite immediate medical attention. This tragic event marks the 15th homicide in the city this year and the fourth in the Bayview area. Gun violence has seen a historic low in San Francisco, with the city recording its lowest homicide rate in 60 years last year. Bayview Hunters Point has historically experienced higher crime rates than other neighborhoods, raising community concerns.
