Car in Burlingame Crash Was Hit by E-Bike Before Striking, Killing 4-Year-Old Boy on Sidewalk

In a devastating incident in Burlingame, a car struck two children, killing a 4-year-old boy and injuring a 6-year-old girl after being hit by an e-bike. The crash occurred around 6:25 p. m. when the 19-year-old female driver lost control while exiting Parking Lot D onto Donnelly Avenue. The car veered onto the sidewalk, hitting the children before coming to rest inside Truffle Poke Bar.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, while the girl received treatment at Stanford Hospital. Officials highlighted the need for improved pedestrian safety measures, as this marks the third pedestrian death in the city this year. Lt. David Perna remarked on the unusual severity of the incident in downtown Burlingame. Local resident Jordana Peil expressed concern about reckless e-bike usage in the area.
