Fort Bragg police chief plans retirement aided homeless, departments EV transition

Fort Bragg Police Chief Neil Cervenka will retire on September 30 after serving since 2022. He joined the department following over 20 years with the Turlock Police Department and has a distinguished military background in the U. S. Air Force. Cervenka led the transition to all-electric patrol vehicles, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability.

Additionally, he secured millions in grant funding to establish a care response unit aimed at aiding the homeless along the Mendocino Coast. His tenure also included overhauling departmental policies and investing in employee wellness and leadership development. Cervenka's efforts have fostered a supportive environment for both the police force and the community.
