A twin-engine Beechcraft 95-B55 Baron crashed into the Pacific Ocean off Point Pinos near Pacific Grove around 10:55 p. m. Saturday, resulting in the deaths of all three individuals on board. Flight tracking indicates the aircraft departed San Carlos Airport shortly after 10 p. m.

for Monterey Regional Airport when it lost radar contact, prompting emergency crews to respond. Residents reported hearing the plane revving low before a loud splash was heard. By Sunday morning, recovery teams successfully retrieved the bodies of all three victims, believed to be the only passengers. Federal Aviation Administration records show the plane was registered to a Delaware-based company and had completed a prior flight from Monterey to San Carlos. Local pilots noted the challenges of flying along the Central Coast, especially with variable weather conditions.

The National Transportation Safety Board is set to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The incident raises concerns about safety protocols for small aircraft operating in coastal areas.
