After nearly 10 years, Morgan Hill City Attorney Donald Larkin announces retirement
Donald Larkin will retire as Morgan Hill City Attorney on Friday after nearly ten years, transitioning to an interim role through a contract with Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP. This arrangement ensures continuity during the search for a permanent attorney, expected to last several months. Larkin has served as the city’s chief attorney since 2016 and has held various roles, including Deputy County Counsel for Santa Clara County. In a statement, he expressed pride in his service and gratitude for the supportive team he worked with. Mayor Mark Turner characterized Larkin's exit as "bittersweet," praising his unmatched wisdom and dedication.
Larkin played a key role in overseeing a $30 million settlement related to a 2016 accident that injured two boys at a poorly lit intersection. He will assume his interim position beginning Monday, July 28, working part-time until a successor is appointed. His retirement marks the end of an impactful tenure in local government.
