Bill Neukom remembered as a guiding force behind Giants first SF championship
Bill Neukom, the former managing general partner of the San Francisco Giants, passed away at 83, leaving behind a legacy as a key figure in the team's history. He led the Giants to their first World Series championship in San Francisco in 2010, a milestone celebrated by the franchise and its fans. Giants President Larry Baer extended heartfelt condolences to Neukom’s family, acknowledging his leadership and dedication to baseball. Neukom joined the ownership group in 1995 and assumed the role of managing general partner in 2008. Before his tenure with the Giants, he served as a partner at K&L Gates and was Microsoft’s general counsel for nearly 25 years.
In addition to his legal career, Neukom founded the World Justice Project, promoting the rule of law globally. His passion for baseball began in childhood, inspired by his neighbor Charlie Graham Jr. , the general manager of the San Francisco Seals. Funeral arrangements have not yet been disclosed.
