Novato Teen Dies, Three Injured in Petaluma Crash Following Suspected DUI Police Chase

A police pursuit in Petaluma resulted in a crash that killed 14-year-old Aldo Rodriguez Cazarez and seriously injured three other teenage boys. The 17-year-old driver, who faces felony charges including vehicular manslaughter and DUI, was reportedly driving a stolen Kia Soul. Police began the chase after observing the vehicle swerving dangerously on Lakeville Highway. After sideswiping another vehicle, the Kia lost control and rolled over, ejecting all four occupants. The two surviving passengers, aged 15 and 16, are currently in stable condition at local trauma centers.

Lakeville Highway, known for its dangers, remained closed for investigation until Sunday morning. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash and encourage anyone with information to reach out. This incident underscores ongoing concerns about reckless driving and the dangers of underage alcohol consumption.
