Marin City officials, residents to gather for public dialogue to shape vision for future
The Forever Marin City Futures Forum will convene Thursday, bringing together residents and county officials to discuss the community's future. Participants will engage in interactive sessions and collaborative brainstorming to address equity, infrastructure, and opportunity. Marin City, founded during World War II as a shipyard community, has the largest Black population in Marin County, shaped by historical discriminatory policies like redlining. County officials attending include Supervisor Stephanie Moulton-Peters and County Executive Derek Johnson, who expressed support for community-led initiatives. The forum, hosted by Marin City Climate Resilience, aims to generate actionable solutions.
It will take place from 2:30 to 5:30 p. m. at Cornerstone Community Church. Johnson stressed the need for long-term, data-driven solutions designed in collaboration with the community. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to address systemic issues faced by residents.
