Im about to kill someone Antioch police release body cam video of deadly shooting

San Francisco, CALocal News

Newly-released body camera footage captures the moments leading to the fatal shooting of 26-year-old David Bahrami by Antioch police on June 30. During a call to dispatch, Bahrami threatened to kill someone and resisted efforts for officers to contact his family, raising safety concerns. Officers attempted to deescalate the situation but were forced to respond when Bahrami brandished a knife and charged at them. Less-lethal measures initially failed to stop him, leading officers to fire their weapons. Bahrami fell to the ground and later succumbed to his injuries despite medical aid.

Authorities confirmed that no one else was harmed, and the officers involved are on paid administrative leave while investigations proceed. The Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office is also reviewing the incident. This shooting highlights ongoing concerns about police responses to mental health crises.
