Disneyland kicks off 70th anniversary celebration in SF's Presidio with special hot air balloon
Disneyland Resort launched its 70th anniversary celebrations with a hot air balloon event in San Francisco's Presidio. ABC7 Anchor Gloria Rodriguez reported live from inside the 75-foot tall balloon, which can hold 90,000 basketballs when fully inflated. Megan Roth from Disneyland highlighted the balloon's handmade nature. Although the official anniversary is next week, celebrations have already commenced, featuring the "Tapestry of Happiness" projection show and the "Wondrous Journeys" fireworks display. Disneyland is also promoting special ticket offers and anniversary-themed merchandise, including new character outfits.
Ambassador Raul Aquino Rojas praised the "Wondrous Journeys" show, noting it encapsulates 100 years of Disney storytelling in just 15 minutes. The events celebrate happiness and aim to engage visitors in the Disneyland experience. This anniversary marks a significant milestone for the resort, enhancing its legacy in entertainment.
