Energizing education Sonoma Clean Power expands Mendo County learning experiences

San Francisco, CALocal News

Sonoma Clean Power has donated $20,000 to launch the SchoolsRule Mendocino County initiative, aimed at enhancing educational experiences for youth in Mendocino County. The program, spearheaded by Superintendent Nicole Glentzer, will fund school field trips, outdoor activities, and arts and science programs. This financial support will be distributed based on student enrollment, ensuring that every public school in the county receives assistance. Superintendent Glentzer noted that the donation signifies a commitment to providing equitable opportunities for all students. Sean Dalton, events manager at Sonoma Clean Power, stated that SchoolsRule represents an effective model for expanding access to experiences that students might not otherwise have.

Since its establishment in 2014, Sonoma Clean Power has contributed over $5 million to local nonprofits, workforce programs, and fire relief initiatives. The initiative not only supports educational enhancement but also aligns with Sonoma Clean Power's mission of building resilient communities. This collaboration reflects a broader commitment to improving the educational landscape in Mendocino County.
