Early Morning East Bay Freeway Gunfire Sends One Person to the Hospital

A driver suffered a minor head injury from gunfire on I-680 near Danville early Thursday morning, around 12:30 a. m. The victim, driving a Tesla 3, experienced a bullet wound but is expected to survive. After the first shot, the driver exited the freeway onto Stone Valley Road, where they were struck again. The California Highway Patrol has not released details about the alleged shooter or the motive for the attack.

Officers were able to communicate with the victim upon arrival at the scene. The CHP is urging anyone with information about the shooting to reach out to their investigative tipline. This incident underscores the rising concern regarding gun violence in California. Authorities have not provided any updates on potential suspects.
