Hunt Auctions’ president, David Hunt, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to represent Mays' important collection.

Jeff Bleich, chair of the Say Hey! Foundation, noted Mays' commitment to helping children as a key aspect of his legacy. The auction represents a chance for fans to own a piece of baseball history while contributing to a charitable cause. The collection will first be displayed publicly at the 2025 National Sports Collectors Convention in Rosemont, Illinois.
