Mission District school mourns brothers killed in Yolo County fireworks explosion

San Francisco, CALocal News

Three brothers, Jesus, Jhony, and Joel Ramos, died in a Yolo County fireworks warehouse explosion on July 1, which also killed four others. Jesus, 18, had just begun his first day at the warehouse, while Joel, the oldest at 28, had worked there for over a year. Their mother, Marisol Ramos, expressed the family's devastation and frustration over the lack of communication from the fireworks company, Devastating Pyrotechnics. The explosion sparked an 80-acre wildfire, complicating first responders' efforts to reach the scene. The warehouse was on property not permitted for fireworks storage, raising safety concerns.

The Ramos brothers were well-known in the Buena Vista Horace Mann K-8 School community, where they attended from kindergarten through eighth grade. Teachers and fellow students have rallied to support the family, emphasizing their longstanding connection to the community. Marisol Ramos expressed gratitude for the support, stating, “From the bottom of my heart, I want to send them all a big hug.
