Video ICE agents drive SUV through protesters at S.F. immigration court

San Francisco, CALocal News

Federal immigration agents clashed with about 20 protesters outside San Francisco’s immigration courthouse on Tuesday morning, resulting in a violent confrontation. The agents, attempting to escort a detained immigrant, used pepper spray and physical force against demonstrators who blocked the entrance. A black SUV carrying the detained immigrant sped through the crowd, throwing a woman off its hood, illustrating the escalating tensions. Protesters have been gathering weekly to oppose ICE's practice of arresting asylum-seekers after their hearings, and this incident marked the most violent clash to date this year. Milli Atkinson, an immigration specialist with the Bar Association of San Francisco, confirmed the arrest of the immigrant.

Witnesses reported a chaotic scene, with screams and physical altercations as protesters attempted to voice their opposition. Several police officers were present, following the ICE agents as they left the courthouse. The event underscores the ongoing conflict surrounding immigration enforcement in the Bay Area.
