Marin County nonprofits eligible to receive up to 50,000 one-time grants for projects
Marin County has initiated a Community Grants and Investment Program, allocating $1. 65 million for one-time grants ranging from $1,000 to $50,000. This funding is available to tax-exempt organizations and those with fiscal sponsorship for projects that benefit county residents in 2026. The application period runs through August 31, with each organization allowed to submit one application that can include up to three proposed activities. Budget director Josh Swedberg emphasized that this year's funding is a temporary increase, as it will revert to $1.
1 million next year unless additional funds are approved. The program aims to address critical county issues, including affordable housing, homelessness, and economic vitality. Previous recipients of funding include Meals on Wheels and Marin Humane, highlighting the program's community impact.
