Local Bartender Accused of Slashing Patron's Throat In Random Attack at Divisadero Bar
A San Francisco bartender, Patrick Hamer, faces serious charges for allegedly stabbing fellow patron Taylor "TJ" Vindigni at The Fishbowl Bar & Grill. The attack occurred around 1:30 am last Tuesday in the men's restroom, where witnesses reported Hamer confronting Vindigni before slashing his throat with a box cutter. Following the assault, Hamer fled the scene, leaving behind brass knuckles, suggesting he might have been seeking a fight. Police arrested Hamer two days later on Valencia Street, charging him with attempted murder, aggravated mayhem, and assault with a deadly weapon. Vindigni remains in the ICU, prompting friends and fellow employees to launch a GoFundMe campaign that has raised over $20,000 for his medical expenses.
The Snug, where Vindigni works, has also introduced a cocktail called The Big G, with all proceeds benefiting his recovery efforts. Hamer's arrest marks a troubling incident in local nightlife, highlighting concerns about safety in bars. Charges against Hamer have not yet been formally filed, adding to the uncertainty surrounding this violent event.
