San Francisco, CALocal News

Marin County Board of Supervisors approved tentative labor agreements with the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association and Teamsters Local 856’s Deputy District Attorney Unit during its June 24 meeting. If ratified by union members, these agreements will return to the board for final approval. The agreements feature cost-of-living adjustments of up to 11% over three years, alongside enhanced health care benefits. The county is currently negotiating with ten employee labor groups that represent over 2,000 workers, highlighting the ongoing efforts to address labor relations. County Executive Derek Johnson stated that these agreements are essential for the county to remain competitive in attracting a qualified workforce.

The board will examine additional agreements with other unions, including the Sheriff Staff Officers’ Association, at upcoming meetings on July 8 and July 15. The county's focus on labor negotiations reflects its commitment to maintaining a strong workforce amid economic pressures. This proactive stance is crucial for ensuring employee satisfaction and retention.
