San Francisco unveils "Welcome" light show for Pride

San Francisco, CALocal News

San Francisco's "Welcome" light show returns this weekend, brightening a 4. 1-mile stretch of Market Street to Twin Peaks with an impressive 20 lasers. This year's event marks the fourth installment of the installation, which originally debuted in 2022 with six lasers. The show celebrates Pride Weekend and commemorates the 20th anniversary of marriage equality in the city. A kickoff party tonight at 8 PM at Embarcadero Plaza will officially launch the display, inviting locals and visitors to join the festivities.

Last year's expansion to 20 lasers highlighted the increasing significance of the event within the community. Attendees can also view an aerial perspective of last year's show on the event's Instagram page. The light show not only serves as an artistic expression but also reinforces San Francisco's commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and celebration. As the city gears up for Pride, the event promises to unite and inspire the community.
