In a recent statement, District 4 Councilmember Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia commended the Fiscal Year 2025 Adopted Budget, highlighting its focus on quality of life improvements in housing and health. The budget totals $3. 96 billion and is designed to tackle pressing issues such as homelessness and healthcare access. With American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding available until 2026, the budget allocates $600,000 for health initiatives targeting health disparities in underserved neighborhoods.

Additionally, more than $35 million is earmarked for affordable housing investments, which will support home rehabilitation, rental assistance, and homelessness intervention for nearly 1,500 families. The City Council has also approved $1 million in housing assistance for approximately 650 families. Furthermore, $44. 2 million will be directed towards homelessness services, benefiting around 500 unsheltered individuals. This comprehensive budget demonstrates the city’s dedication to fostering a resilient economy while improving the overall quality of life for its residents.
