San Antonio International lands direct flights to Toronto, Canada

San Antonio, TXLocal News

Air Canada will initiate nonstop flights from San Antonio International Airport to Toronto Pearson International Airport in May, with three weekly flights scheduled. San Antonio departures will be every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10:30 a. m. , arriving in Toronto at approximately 3:07 p. m.

Flights returning to San Antonio will operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, departing Toronto at 6:20 p. m. and arriving around 9 p. m. San Antonio Director of Airports Jesus Saenz highlighted that local officials advocated for these nonstop flights, indicating a desire for improved international travel options.

This route represents only the 10th international nonstop flight for San Antonio International, which has historically focused on flights to Mexico. The airport had previously offered direct service to Frankfurt, Germany, but that route ended late last year following the discontinuation by Condor Airlines. The new flights could enhance tourism and business travel between the U. S. and Canada.
