Deputy Abel Munoz Sifuentes, 29, was arrested by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly assaulting a fellow deputy with whom he had a four-year relationship. This incident came to light during an exit interview with the victim, who reported being assaulted in May 2024. Investigators revealed that Sifuentes awoke her, grabbed her shirt, and pushed her against a wall, resulting in bodily injury. The woman presented photos of her injuries to law enforcement, further substantiating her claims. BCSO officials confirmed that Sifuentes was arrested while on duty and has since been placed on administrative leave.

Sheriff Javier Salazar emphasized that domestic violence will not be tolerated in law enforcement and announced that dismissal proceedings against Sifuentes are underway. The incident highlights ongoing concerns surrounding domestic violence, particularly within law enforcement agencies. Such cases can undermine public trust in police integrity and necessitate strict accountability measures.
