President Taylor Eighmy, who has led the university since 2017, expressed that UT San Antonio aims to exemplify excellence in education, healthcare, and transdisciplinary research. The merger results in 15 colleges and schools across six campuses, providing 320 undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates. A new, controversial logo was introduced, while the sports teams will continue to use the UTSA insignia.
