Rockville Police Investigate Overnight Shooting

Rockville City Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on July 20, 2024, at approximately 1:40 a. m. in the 1200 block of First St. Responding officers from the Rockville Police Department, alongside Montgomery County Fire Rescue Services, found an adult victim who had sustained minor injuries from multiple gunshots. Remarkably, the victim refused medical treatment at the scene, indicating the injuries were not life-threatening.

The RCPD detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which has raised concerns within the community. Local authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could aid their inquiry, urging witnesses or anyone with relevant details to reach out to Cpl. Reidy. The department has emphasized that tips can be submitted anonymously, allowing community members to assist without fear of reprisal.
