Rockville Police Investigate Shooting

Rockville City Police are investigating a shooting that took place on August 2, 2024, shortly before 4:30 p. m. in the 400 block of College Parkway. The police and Montgomery County Fire Rescue Services responded to the scene where they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition.

In response to the shooting, Montgomery College's Rockville campus was temporarily placed on lockdown, although officials later confirmed that there was no evidence linking the incident to the college. Rockville City Police detectives are currently on-site conducting an ongoing investigation. Residents can expect an increased police presence in the College Gardens community throughout the evening. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to reach out to the Rockville City Police Department.
