The incident occurred around 5 p. m. on Sunday near Bronson Way Northeast and Viewmont, while the boys were seated in a car with two companions. Police reported that an unknown vehicle approached and opened fire.

The driver made an attempt to reach the hospital but stopped on Rainier Avenue South, where one of the teens was declared dead at the scene. The surviving teen was subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Investigators believe the shooting was not random, indicating a targeted attack.
