Renton, WA teen escapes into school after man stalks her in white sedan
Renton police are actively searching for a man who allegedly stalked a teenage girl near Lindbergh High School on March 31. The girl reported that as she was walking towards the school, a man in a small white hatchback followed her for approximately two minutes, making inappropriate comments. This alarming incident has raised concerns among parents and students, with some expressing frustration over the school's failure to notify them about the situation. Renton Police are asking local residents to check their security cameras for any footage from that morning to aid in the investigation. Authorities stress the importance of personal safety, advising individuals, particularly children, to stay aware of their surroundings while walking.
They recommend not wearing both earbuds, avoiding distractions from phones, and walking in groups for added safety. Police spokesperson Meeghan Black highlighted that the girl did everything correctly by reporting the incident immediately upon reaching school. The police have probable cause to arrest the suspect for attempting to communicate with a minor for immoral purposes, emphasizing the need to hold him accountable before his behavior escalates.
