Police were alerted to a situation involving a woman threatening individuals with a knife, which prompted a rapid response from law enforcement. The area was secured, and while the victims were safely evacuated, the suspect barricaded herself inside the unit. Throughout the standoff, police utilized loudspeaker announcements in an effort to persuade the suspect, identified as Mariah, to surrender peacefully. Neighbors reported hearing multiple loud bangs, likely from flashbang devices used during the operation, heightening their anxiety about the unfolding drama.

The Valley SWAT Team even deployed a drone to search the premises after breaking a window, but initial attempts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful. Eventually, officers entered the residence and found Mariah hiding under a mattress. She was taken into custody without incident and booked for first-degree assault related to domestic violence.
