Retired from the Navy, but still plenty busy
Rockey A. Davis, a 73-year-old retired Navy veteran, remains deeply engaged in his community through various service roles. After retiring in 1995 as an aviation electrician’s mate senior chief, he had a distinguished career that included deployments during critical events like the Iranian hostage crisis and Gulf War. Today, he commands VFW Post 10043, the second-largest post in Idaho, where he leads efforts to assist veterans and raise funds for local health services. Recently, Davis organized a chili cook-off fundraiser with Serengeti Care of Lewiston, showcasing his commitment to community welfare.
He also volunteers as a range officer at a local shooting range and on his church's security team, where he emphasizes preparedness. Davis's family legacy continues, as both of his children have served in the military. His active involvement highlights the ongoing contributions of veterans to local communities. With his various initiatives, Davis exemplifies how military service translates into civilian leadership and community support.
