Ken Burns to preview his American Revolution series in RI Thursday, Oct. 16

Ken Burns will host two panel discussions in Rhode Island on Oct. 16, promoting his PBS documentary “The American Revolution,” premiering on Nov. 16. The discussions will feature a 15-minute preview of the 12-hour series and will include long-time collaborator Sarah Botstein. The State House event begins at 3 p.

m. and is open to high school students participating in the Civic Leadership Program, including a question-and-answer session to encourage engagement. A sold-out session at Rhode Island College will commence at 7 p. m. The series is a collaboration among Burns, Botstein, and David Schmidt, with Geoffrey C.

Ward responsible for the writing. This effort aims to educate and inspire students about their civic duties and American history. By engaging students directly, the event promotes active participation in civic life.
