City of Providence Searches for the Perfect Christmas Tree

Providence, RILocal News

The City of Providence is actively seeking residents' help to find two evergreen trees for its winter celebrations, specifically a 35 to 45-foot spruce or fir for City Hall and a 15 to 20-foot tree for the Providence Rink. Interested residents must submit a description and photograph of their nominated tree via email to Allison Barry, the Cultural Affairs Manager, by November 7, 2025. The city’s Forestry Division will manage the cutting and removal of the winning trees at no cost to the tree owners, with support from Stanley Tree Service for crane operations. The trees will be prominently displayed throughout the holiday season, enhancing the city's festive atmosphere. The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for December 6 and will feature various family-friendly activities, refreshments, and live music.

As the city gears up for this event, additional programming details will be shared in the coming weeks. This initiative fosters community engagement and highlights the spirit of the holiday season in Providence. Residents are encouraged to participate and contribute to the city's festive decorations.
