M. Night Shyamalan took over two RI state parks in August to finish filming 'Remain'
M. Night Shyamalan concluded principal photography for "Remain" at Fort Wetherill State Park in Jamestown, Rhode Island, from August 7 to 9. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Phoebe Dynevor, and Ashley Walters, marking a significant milestone in the production process. This shoot follows a previous filming session at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick, where movie crews utilized a large area while keeping parts open to the public. Despite completing principal photography, Shyamalan may return to reshoot or film additional scenes as needed.
The supernatural romantic thriller is set for theatrical release on October 23, 2026. In conjunction, a novel telling the same story by Nicholas Sparks will be released on October 14 and is available for preorder on Amazon. The filming at Fort Wetherill involved extensive setup, including crew parking and a base camp near the SCUBA diving lot. Security measures were in place to keep the public away from the actual set, which was located along the rocky cliffs overlooking Narragansett Bay.
