Forest Grove Sergeant rescues ducklings crossing the road

Portland, ORLocal News

Over the weekend, Sergeant Matthew Dorick of the Forest Grove Police rescued ducklings from a busy road, showcasing a commitment to animal welfare. While patrolling 35th Avenue, he spotted the ducklings attempting to cross without their mother, posing a danger to their safety. He promptly placed them in his patrol car and transported them to a nearby pond, where they were released. The police emphasized that this action was a better alternative than allowing the ducklings to wander on the road. Although it is unclear if they reunited with their mother, the police's intervention reflects local values regarding wildlife protection.

Incidents like these contribute to community awareness of animal safety. Local law enforcement often engages in similar acts of kindness, reinforcing the bond between public service and community welfare. Such actions not only protect wildlife but also enhance public trust in police efforts.
