Five arrested in Washington County sting targeting online child predators

Portland, ORLocal News

Five individuals were arrested in Washington County as part of an undercover sting operation targeting online child predators. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) utilized undercover deputies who posed as minors on dating apps and social media sites. Suspects initiated contact with the deputies, attempting to arrange meet-ups, only to be arrested upon arrival. The suspects, aged 24 to 65, face charges of luring a minor online and online sexual corruption of a child. Authorities suspect there may be more victims connected to these individuals.

The sting was informed by a prior investigation into David Vichi, who was previously investigated by Hillsboro Police after a minor reported inappropriate contact. The operation underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat online child exploitation. Investigators encourage anyone with information about the suspects to contact the WCSO.
