Suspect arrested in case of Portland woman found dead in car with unharmed baby

Dariel Nunez Montero, a 31-year-old man, has been arrested in relation to the murder of Courtney Clinton, whose lifeless body was found in a parked car in Vancouver, Washington, on November 1, 2024. Clinton, also 31, was discovered inside a Ford Edge with an unharmed infant, prompting immediate police investigation. A medical examiner later confirmed that Clinton suffered fatal lacerations to her neck. Authorities have identified Montero as the prime suspect and issued a first-degree murder warrant for him from a Clark County court. At the time of his arrest, Montero was already serving time in a Kentucky jail on unrelated charges.

Police described the nature of the crime as "apparently random and violent," raising concerns about public safety. As the investigation unfolds, Montero awaits extradition to Washington to face the charges. This tragic incident highlights ongoing issues of violence and safety in the community.
