1 person missing, 2 hospitalized after boat capsizes on Columbia River

A fishing boat capsized on the Columbia River near the White Salmon River, leading to a desperate search for one person who remains missing. The incident was reported to the Hood River County Sheriff's Office around 11:39 a. m. on Wednesday, prompting immediate action from multiple law enforcement agencies. Upon reaching the scene, rescuers managed to pull six individuals from the water, two of whom required hospitalization.

The missing person has not yet been located, raising concerns among the rescue teams. The boat, a 24-foot North River fishing vessel, was last seen near a green navigation buoy close to the White Salmon inlet. Search efforts involve collaboration among several agencies, including the U. S. Coast Guard, which deployed a helicopter, and local sheriff's offices.
