Portland, ORLocal News

A shooting incident in Northeast Portland left an 18-year-old injured late Thursday night, although his injuries were confirmed to be non-life-threatening. Police were alerted to the scene near Northeast 72nd Avenue and Northeast Prescott Street just before midnight. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from gunshot wounds and quickly arranged for his transport to a local hospital. During the investigation, officers interviewed two individuals connected to the victim who were unharmed. Their accounts led authorities to believe that the shooting likely occurred near Cully Park and that the victim and suspect had a prior acquaintance.

This raises concerns about potential underlying issues that may have led to the altercation. Additionally, during a search of a vehicle linked to the victim, officers found a pistol, highlighting the involvement of firearms in this incident. The Portland Police Bureau continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the identity of the suspect.
