Young sisters found safe in Portland father detained

Portland, ORLocal News

In a successful operation on December 28, 2024, two young sisters, aged 1 and 4, were found safe in Northwest Portland following an Amber Alert issued by authorities in Washington state. The alert was initiated when their biological father, Andrew Womack-Eady, 24, was reported to have taken them. The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) received tips suggesting that Womack-Eady and the girls were in the area, leading to the recovery of the vehicle linked to the Amber Alert parked near Northwest 23rd Avenue and Thurman Street. Officers conducted a search and located Womack-Eady with the children. In addition to the Amber Alert situation, Womack-Eady faces felony warrants out of Washington state, complicating his legal situation.

Thankfully, both girls were unharmed and are currently safe. PPB confirmed that arrangements are being made to return the children to their home. This incident highlights the effectiveness of community alert systems in resolving child abduction cases promptly.
