Man dead after shooting in Portland's Lloyd District

On September 10, 2024, Portland police responded to a shooting in the Lloyd District that left 44-year-old Anthony J. Garland dead. The incident occurred around 5:30 p. m. near the intersection of Northeast Grand Avenue and Northeast 6th Avenue, where officers discovered Garland's body upon arrival.

The medical examiner confirmed that the cause of death was homicide by gunshot, prompting an investigation by the homicide unit. Despite their efforts, no arrests have been made as the suspect or suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
