Metro Parks and Nature is set to host a free Star Party at Glendoveer Golf Course on September 27, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:30 p. m. , offering families an opportunity to experience the beauty of the night sky. The event aims to democratize stargazing by providing access to telescopes and expert guidance from the Rose City Astronomers. Attendees will be able to view celestial wonders such as Saturn, the Ring Nebula in Lyra, and the double star Albireo in Cygnus.

To create a cozy atmosphere, hot cocoa and campfire treats will be available for guests. The venue will also feature golf carts to assist those needing help reaching the best viewing spots, away from light pollution. Metro Parks and Nature will provide red cellophane to cover lights, ensuring optimal viewing conditions.
