Weekly Street Services report October 27-November 2, 2025
The Street Services Coordination Center (SSCC) reported assisting 62 individuals with shelter referrals last week, with 33 accepting the offers. The collaborative program, involving various city agencies such as Fire & Rescue and Multnomah County, aims to reduce the impacts of homelessness in Portland. During the same period, teams assessed 984 reported campsites and removed 149 that posed health and safety risks. Since April 2022, the SSCC has referred a total of 8,410 individuals to shelters, reflecting its ongoing commitment to addressing homelessness. The program not only focuses on immediate needs but also emphasizes long-term solutions through resource referrals.
In the past week alone, the SSCC received 2,207 reports of campsites, including 715 related to people living in vehicles. Their actions aim to ensure the safety and dignity of those living outdoors while promoting access to shelter. The data underscores the significant challenges faced by the city in managing homelessness effectively.
