Leak or treat? Our Home Water Leak Repair Program can give you the treat of a leak-free home!

Portland, ORLocal News

Portland's Home Water Leak Repair Program provides free repairs for water leaks, significantly aiding local homeowners. To qualify, residents must own their homes, maintain an active drinking water account, and have a leak on their side of the meter. In 2024, the program repaired or replaced 121 leaking toilets and 21 underground service lines, which can waste thousands of gallons daily. Toilet leaks can be particularly insidious, equating to leaving a faucet running all day. The program also addressed leaks in faucets, pipes, and fixtures, helping nearly 200 homeowners last year.

A five-year grant from the Portland Clean Energy Fund has allowed the program to expand its reach and hire a full-time coordinator. These repairs not only conserve water but also help reduce carbon emissions linked to water treatment and heating. The Home Water Leak Repair Program exemplifies a proactive approach to environmental sustainability while supporting local residents.
