Traffic Advisory Two middle lanes of SE Grand Avenue closed between SE Stephens Street and SE Market Street for emergency repairs

Portland, ORLocal News

Environmental Services has closed two lanes of SE Grand Avenue between SE Stephens Street and SE Market Street for emergency repairs lasting up to three weeks. Two northbound lanes will remain open, but travelers should expect delays and consider alternate routes. The repairs aim to stabilize sinking soils around maintenance hole risers as part of the Grand Avenue Risers Stabilization Project, responding to significant soil subsidence. Between 7 p. m.

and 6 a. m. , crews will inject material into the ground to prevent further settling, resulting in nighttime construction noise. Local access to residences and businesses will remain available, and sidewalks will stay open for pedestrians. Parking near the work zone will be restricted during construction.

Public transit riders are advised to check TriMet and Portland Streetcar for service impacts or delays. This project underscores the city's commitment to maintaining infrastructure and public safety.
